FIRE PREVENTION TALKS IN SCHOOLS. The introduction of a system whereby competent men are to be engaged to deliver lectures in the public schools of Jersey City, N. J., upon the best methods to be adopted to guard against fire and possible panics among pupils is being sought by Commissioner O’Brien, the director of public safety in that city. It is proposed to have these talks as often as several times a week and the plan as outlined will not only serve to help in preventing fires but will give the pupils much useful and practical information. Various causes and means of fighting fires will be discussed and while the details of a definite system of instruction have not yet been decided upon the course to be adopted will probably include practical demonstrations.
