FIREMEN HOLD CONVENTIONS Connecticut State Firemen. The Connecticut State Firemen’s Association met in convention at Hartford, Conn., on August 16. The convention opened with a meeting of the executive committee which comprises all the officers of the Association. The most important meeting of the occasion was that of the Chiefs’ Club, which was held at the Elks’ Club. Chief John C. Moran, of Hartford, welcomed the visiting chiefs to the city. There were about forty chiefs from cities all over the state present. Chief K. R. Fancher, of New Haven, was elected president, and Charles A. Cameron, of West Haven, was elected secretary. The selective draft was the subject of the discussion of the meeting. All the chiefs reported losing firemen.
