WATER WORKS NEWS ITEMS Belleville, Kan., is laying 4,000 feet of new mains. Electric pumps have been installed at the water works of Petoskey, Mich. The water company of Marinette, Wis., has laid about 3,000 feet of new pipe this year. The new auxiliary pump for Sterling, Colo., has been completed and put in service. Sheboygan, Wis., has installed an AllisChalmers 12,000,000-gallon pump at a cost of $30,000. The electric pump recently installed at the Kenton (O.), water works plant has a capacity of 250 gallons a minute. The new water works plant under construction in Middletown, O., will be completed about October 1, giving an additional pumping capacity of 10,000,000 gallons per 24 hours it is estimated. The plan to secure a municipal water supply for Redding, Shasta County, Cal., has been furthered following a preliminary survey indicating there is sufficient water to be had from Brandy Creek near…
