SANITARY CONTROL OF WATER SYSTEMS IN OKLAHOMA. The State of Oklahoma has made a notable step forward toward sanitary water works for municipalities within its borders by a legislative act which is to go into effect on June 30 of next year and which vests sanitary control of water supply and sewerage systems in the Oklahoma State Board of Health. It provides that after the law goes into effect no contracts for new water works or for changes in or extensions to old systems other than extensions to water distribution pipe can be made without plans being filed with the State Board of Health and obtaining that Board’s approval. The Board is also invested with the power of ordering changes in water supply and sewerage systems necessary for the protection of the health of the public.
