IMPORTANT RECENT FIRES (Specially Reported for FIRE AND WATER ENGINEERING) The following are among the important recent fires occurring in various sections of the country, which has been specially reported to FIRE AND WATER ENGINEERING: Large Plant Damaged at Oshkosh At 1.50 p. m., October 18, fire broke out in the warehouse building of the Schmit Bag and Trunk Co., Oshkosh, Wis. This building is a four-story wooden structure, 65 x 165 feet, and is one of five buildings which constitute the plant, which is located in the northeastern part of the city. A passer-by noticed the fire in the southwestern part of the building and phoned an alarm. Chief R. A. Brauer on arriving two minutes after the alarm was received, found a strong fire coming through the windows and over tramways.
