WATER RATES The Shinnston, Pa., Light and Water Company has been permitted to increase its rates for water. The proposed increase in water rates for Evansville, Ind., has been approved by the board of trustees. To increase the revenues of the Portsmouth, O., municipal water works department,’ it has been proposed to increase the rates for service. It is possible that the controversy over the water rates in the borough of West Conshohocken, Pa., may result in the reduction for the house service and a rise in the rate for the hydrant service. The Westmoreland Water Company of Greensburg, Pa., have been gathering data as to size of pipe and number of spigots in service in order, if possible, to determine a reduced water rate to consumers.
