WATER RATES Business men of Sheboygan, Wis., have named a committee to seek a reduction in water rates. The Danville, Ind., council have sought permission to increase water rates 100 per cent. The city operates its own pumping plant. At Austin, Tex., the reduction of water rates for the small consumer is approved, in order to increase the number of war gardens. Municipal water rates in Asbury Park, N. J., will be increased beginning with the April quarter 37 cents per 1,000 cubic feet, or a rate equal to that charged by the Monmouth County Water Company. The quarterly minimum rate will be $1.50 on a basis of 800 cubic feet consumption. The rate per 1,000 cubic feet of consumption is to be $1.87. The city council of Zanesville, O., proposes to increase the water rates to manufacturers and railways. The increase will meet with the approval of those affected.…
