METERAGE All metered water services are urged for Washington, D. C., by its local press. Adoption of the meter system for all water consumers in Columbia City, Ind., has been advocated. The town of Moroni, Utah, has sought permission to install meters and a consequent new system of rates will follow the new system of measurement. A decision of the Pennsylvania Public Service Commission requires a Monroe County water company to pay for new meters installed and to allow rebates for those purchased. The decision protects the consumer. In order to keep the pumping facilities up to the consumption demands, city officials at Niagara Falls, N. Y., have been debating the question of metering all water services or of installing an additional pump at the municipal water plant.
