METERAGE The water plant committee of Passaic, N. J., have been considering proposals for the installation of meters. The water company at New Castle, Pa., it is reported, expects to place meters on street sprinklers and other city vehicles using city water. Lorain, O., will install 250 more meters within the next year. Service Director Pillans plans to spend about $5,000 on ⅝-inch disc meters for services not already equipped. The city of Spokane, Wash., has 18,844 meters, 354 of them having been installed during the month. The water collections for the past month showed an increase of 12½ per cent, for the month over March, 1917. At Calgary, Can., steps are to be taken by the city water officials to check a recurrence of the enormous consumption of the past year.
