Scoville Plant Burned at Decatur Fire broke out recently in the large plant of the Scoville Manufacturing Company, Decatur, Ill., and before it was extinguished practically destroyed the building. The fire was discovered by an employee, who at once pulled an alarm. When Chief O. W. Devore arrived on the scene it was evident that little could be done to save the building and he directed the energies of his department to the task of saving the adjoining property. This through good work was accomplished, the principal damage to nearby buildings being from water. The illustration shows the firemen attacking the blaze in the Scoville plant at the height of the fire. The loss was estimated at over $100,000.
