Meters Suggested for Auburn If the excessive waste of water by the consumer in Auburn, N. Y., is not promptly stopped, the consequences are very likely to be a raise in rates, or the alternative of metering all the water to each service, according to a report submitted to the Water Board. The situation is serious in a number of ways, as disclosed by the report. It is shown that the consumers used during the last Winter as much as 300 gallons per capita per day at times. Warnings were given some time ago that unless the consumers used reasonable economy in the use of water, measures would have to be adopted by the board to relieve the situation.
