Planning to Increase the Water Capacity of Fargo The city commission of Fargo, N. Dak., at the suggestion of R. B. Blakemore, commissioner of waterworks, has authorized Frank L. Anders, city engineer, to prepare plans and specifications, and estimate the cost of raising the floor of the mixing chamber at the filtration plant four feet, and connecting the two heretofore unused filtration basins at the plant. The changes would be necessary, Mr. Blakemore said, if the plant was to pump 5,000,000 to 6,000,000 gallons a day the coming summer without crowding. The present demand is 2,000,000 to 3,000,gallons a day. Raising the mixing chamber floor, Mr. Blakemore added, would greatly increase the mobility of water to the pumps, thus preventing flooding during the rush season, while connecting the two basins would greatly increase water available for filtration.
