METERAGE York Township, Ont., Can., has been receiving proposals for a supply of meters. The common council of Batavia, N. Y., has arranged for the distribution of meters on the city’s new water system. A meter-testing machine will be procured for the water department. The Phoenix, Ariz., city commission refuses to accept the order of the state corporation commission to supply out of town patrons with water at the same rate as in the city limits, and without metering, or to supply meters at the city’s expense. It has taken the case into the courts. Plans for the placing of water meters in every school building or public institution in Rock Island, Ill., which heretofore has had free water use, are now under way, according to a statement made recently by John A.
