RECENT BIG FIRES (Specially Reported for FIRE AND WATER ENGINEERING.) The following are among the important recent fires occurring in various sections of the country which have been specially reported to FIRE AND WATER ENGINEERING: County Court House Burned The county court house in Winnemucca, Nev., which cost $152,000, was badly injured by fire two weeks ago, but owing to prompt action by Chief B. F. Gillam and the members of his department, the loss was kept down to about $40,000. It was found impossible to fight the fire with the inadequate equipment on hand, especially lack of ladders and poor water pressure. The property destroyed consisted of part of the building and law books, records and valuable county documents. Herewith is picture of the building before the fire.
