Chief Olaf Johnson Resigns

Issue 11 and Volume 64.

Chief Olaf Johnson Resigns Olaf Johnson, for 15 years chief of the fire department of Superior, Minn., has resigned. The Government made a special request for Chief Johnson’s services last spring, and after obtaining a leave of absence he was made district fire marshal in one of the large shipbuilding centers in the East. His territory comprises eight shipyards, which must be protected front natural fire hazards and the work of incendiaries. The fire department of Superior, under Chief Johnson, has attained a high degree of efficiency, as was shown by the annual report published in the issue of July 10 of this journal.
