Conservation of Water There is a serious question involved as to how water is to be conserved at the present time. As usual during the hot heason, reports of water shortage reached us from all parts of the country. The greater number were from the western section where surface and well supplies predominate. The recurrence of these shortages year after year must be seriously considered by the communities affected and means provided to place water supplies beyond the doubtful stage, so that confidence in the source of supply and quality of the water furnished will be of such a character as to secure the confidence of the people using it and relieve the work of the manager who is responsible for both the quantity and palatability of the water furnished.
