Pontiac to Improve Its Fire Protection A local paper of Pontiac, Mich., says: Rerating the city from an insurance standpoint has been deferred until after the primary election, when the electors will vote on a $60,000 bond issue for increasing the fire department equipment. The pains include building a substation in the south end so that it will not be necessary to cross two railroad tracks to bring the apparatus into the factory district. More firemen would also be employed. Installation of new equipment at the Pontiac water works plant with bond money voted last year saved the city from a serious water famine this summer. The demands on the system were unprecedented, far above the capacity of the equipment as it existed last fall.
