Elizabethtown Water Company Asks Approval of Improvement The Elizabethtown Water Company and affiliated companies supplying Elizabeth and towns in Union, Middlesex and Somerset counties, New Jersey, made application to the State Board of Conservation and Development September 4 at the board’s office in Trenton for approval of plans which will practically double the water supply of the companies. The petition was presented by’ Frank Bergen, counsel for the companies and president of the Plainfield-Union and Middlesex Companies. The companies have recently acquired a large tract of land at the junction of the Millstone and Raritan Rivers, in Somerset county, for the purpose of developing an additional water supply there. A 36-inch main has been laid from Bound Brook to Elizabeth. and they have obtained a right of way for a main from the junction of the rivers to the terminus of the Elizabeth line at Bound Brook.
