Many Improvements Planned in the Troy Fire Department by Chief Casey The city of Troy, N. Y., has undertaken a systematized extension of its fire protection facilities, which when completed will go far to put it in the very front rank of preparedness. Nothing will be omitted that can further the department’s efficiency, as far as it is in the power of the municipality to procure them. Among the changes and improvements scheduled, the formation of a squad crew and wagon is first. These will be established at the department headquarters and will have right of way over all other apparatus, as it is expected to be the first to reach the greater number of fires. Chief Casey recommended this measure soon after he assumed charge of the department and believes that the squad wagon crew, which will consist of ten men, will be sufficient to prevent almost any fire…
