Operating Costs Necessiate Raise of Rates in Xenia Evidence of the intention of the State Utilities Commission to assist public utility companies whose financial conditions has become impaired by reason of the changes produced by war was shown recently when that body authorized the Xenia, O., Water Company to increase its rates over the schedule fixed by a municipal ordinance. The commission found that the increase was rendered imperative by reason of the advance in operating costs. It was granted, though, with the important qualification that upon the restoration of normal conditions the schedules will have to be lowered.
