Detroit Water Board Upheld by Audit of Advisory Accountant The report of A. W. Ehrman & Co., advisory accountants, which was asked for by the Board of Water Commissioners of Detroit, Mich., to refute claims made by the grand jury that there were irregularities in the purchase of water pipe, has been received by that body. The audit, which is in reality an investigation of the board’s purchases from January, 1915, to May, 1918, is most important in the eyes of the commissioners in clearing up accusations made against Robert Oakman, one of their number. “We satisfied ourselves that your board always exercised due care and diligence in making purchases of pipe, for we found that in all instances it ordered and received not only the full amount contracted for, but also where it was possible to purchase pipe in excess of the minimum requirement it did so,” reads the…
