The Pennsylvania State College Fire

Issue 2 and Volume 65.

The Pennsylvania State College Fire A fire occurred recently at the Pennsylvania State College, in which a heavy loss occurred; the large engineering building of the college being reduced to ashes. Assistance was called for from the surrounding towns, among them Tyrone, Pa. The company from the latter city, known as the Blazing Arrow Hook and Ladder Company, made a record run to the fire. Within an hour and twenty-five minutes from the time that Professor Maxwell of the college called for help by phone, this company was on the spot with its American-La France type 14 city truck, the distance covered being thirty-one miles. The call came at 7.30 p. m. and the company returned to quarters at 6.30 a. m. the following day.
