Serious Fire Hazard at Vancouver, B. C. That Vancouver, B. C., is going to be wiped off the face of the earth by fire some day unless steps are taken to remedy existing fire dangers, was the statement made recently before the Central Ratepayers’ Association by J. A. Thomas, in charge of the fire investigations branch of the provincial government. Mr. Thomas said he understood when he was appointed to his present position some three months ago that his work would be principally to discover and prosecute in cases where arson had been committed. “But people don’t have to commit arson in Vancouver,” he declared. “All they have to do is to get their insurance policyand wait for a fire.
