WATER WORKS NEWS The new ownership of the Stockbridge, Mass., Water Company, has engaged Henry Symonds, hydraulic engineer, of Boston, to make a thorough investigation of the needs of the system. It is stated that the water board of Watervliet, N. Y., is planning to go out of office, with the completion of the new water works system, including the electrification of the pumping stations. The taxpayers last July voted $130,000 for the improvements that are now practically accomplished. The special committee appointed by the Chamber of Commerce, Elizabeth, N. J., to investigate the water question, has presented its report. The report was approved and the committee empowered to initiate negotiations with the water company for reduction in rates and increase of pressure. It is expected that the new water works system of Chardon, Ohio, will be in operation about April 1. The new centrifugal pumps had several parts broken…
