Fire Department Training Schools A clear and interesting account of the Pittsburgh Training School for Firemen is given in this issue by the official instructors of the school, Albin K. Foster and Frank C. Loxterman. After recounting the various methods of instruction and describing the equipment of the school, the writers finish their article with these words: “The facts as stated above in this article are themselves proof conclusively that our department has been greatly benefited by the training, for through this means we have welded our entire force into an efficient organization. Progressive municipalities wishing to have a more efficient lire department can obtain this result by adopting the training school method of instruction and drill.” There can he no question but that the various schools for firemen have done much to raise the standard of the fire departments of this country.
