Medals Awarded to New York Firemen A presentation of medals by Mayor John F. Hylan of the City of New York to members of the fire department for meritorious acts performed during the year 1918 was held, at the City Hall, on June 12, at 11 o’clock a. m. The Board of Merit consisted of Charles W. Culkin, deputy fire commissioner and chairman; John Kenlon, chief of department; Joseph B. Martin, assistant chief of department; John O’Hara,, deputy chief in charge, Boroughs of Brooklyn and Queens; John Binns, deputy chief of department; Patrick Maher, deputy chief of department; Thomas R. Langford, deputy chief of department; John J. Burns, deputy chief of department; Hon. Wm. F. Thompson, deputy fire commissioner, Boroughs of Brooklyn and Queens.
