CORRESPONDENCE Cure for Insects in Fire Boxes To the Editor: For the benefit of those who take care of fire alarm systems and are troubled by ants or other insects getting into the fire boxes, I advise the use of kerosene oil for driving the insects away permanently. In a recent inspection I made of 25 fire alarm boxes I found seven of them inhabited by ants and their nests and the clock movement inside the round cases were black with ants, endangering the signal mechanism. No doubt many caretakers are troubled because of insects getting into boxes and I suggest they try this remedy which is effective.
