WATER WORKS NEWS Apropos of the unusually lavish employment of garden hose in Bridgeport, Conn., this summer, W. W. Hart, of the Hydraulic Water Company, suggests that the men may have more time for gardening since July I. The new water works system of Ironton, Ohio, is nearly completed, all of the work being practically finished except the filtration plant. The pumping equipment is in process of installation and it is believed that the entire plant will be in operation early in August. The water department of Manchester, N. H., is rebuilding the reservoir at Manchester Center to provide a capacity of 16,000,000 gallons, and is also extending a 20-inch main entirely across the southern portion of the city, which will in addition reinforce the supply in West Manchester.
