District of Columbia Report According to a report of the transactions of the District of Columbia fire marshal’s office for the month of July, during the month 119 alarms of fire were received, a decrease of 6 as compared with the number received the preceding month. Of the 119 alarms of fire received 59 were box alarms and 60 locals or telephone calls. Of the box alarms received 11 were false, and of the locals none was false. The loss caused by the 59 box alarms is estimated at $13,957. The loss caused by the 60 local alarms is estimated at $90S. The total estimated loss is $14,862. This loss is a decrease of $2,288 as compared with the loss for the preceding month, and an increase of $2,226 as compared with the loss for the same month of last year, July, 1918.
