WATER RATES New rates are contemplated for the city of Zanesville, Ohio. It is understood that they will work no hardship on either small or large consumers and in some instances, the new rates may be lower than those now in operation. The new schedule must be ready by November, in order to become effective this year. Secretary L. D. Paar, of the Water Board of Canton, Ohio, began on the first day of September to shut off water in houses where the water rents were unpaid. There were nearly 500 homes in the city that had neglected at that date to pay the rates due some time before and the secretary had given ample warning of the board’s intention to enforce its regulations.
