Wallingford Superintendent Makes Good Report Superintendent MacKenzie, of the water department of Wallingford, Conn., has recently reported to the commissioners, regarding operations for the fiscal year: The gross income the past year was $29,899.79. While this is about $800 under that of last year, it is a substantial increase over the year previous, and with the exception of 1915, when the silver shop strike was on and the factories were running very short-handed, there has been a gradual increase from year to year. Last year was exceptional, as there was considerable war work being done in the factories, some of which were running night shifts, and the railroad company drew heavily on the service, owing to their many extra trains in use, also due to the war and consequent heavy freight traffic.
