Coffee House on Wheels

Issue 5 and Volume 67.

Coffee House on Wheels New York City firemen are happy in the possession of a department coffee wagon for their comfort and refreshment on cold nights when fighting fires. The wagon is a gift from William E. Kenny, who designed it as a memorial of his father, William J. Kenny, formerly a battalion chief. The refreshment motor “aparatus” consists of a Ford car with covered express wagon body, fitted with suitable appliances for making and dispensing liberal supplies of hot coffee and sandwiches, and is kept ready for instant response in case of need, with an emergency crew always in attendance. The illustration is from a photograph by the courtesy of the Edison Company, with which Mr. Kenny is connected.
