WATER WORKS NEWS It is expected that the new reservoir of the Bucyrus, Ohio, Development Company, on which work has been resumed, will be completed about May 10th. A bursting main recently caused damage amounting to $100,000 in Cleveland, Ohio, Scores of families fled from their houses, fearing that they might collapse and a two-story garage and five automobiles were wrecked and partially destroyed. Cellars of houses and stores were flooded and in some instances the water rose above the floors over the cellars. The 36-inch main burst at 12:05 a. m., and workmen were unable to shut off the flow until 4 a. m. The large quantity of water that has gone to waste in the past few weeks at Cooley Brook, which supplies Chicopee, Mass., has caused considerable comment, in view of the shortage not infrequently experienced in hot weather.
