Building and Fire Prevention There is no doubt that the chief of the fire department and the head of the fire prevention bureau should have a certain knowledge of building construction in order to properly exercise the functions of their offices. In fact, the great majority of those holding these important positions in the fire department have this knowledge and find its exercise absolutely necessary in their professions. The importance of building construction with a view to Fire Prevention cannot be too strongly stressed. In the columns devoted to that important matter in this issue there is published an article on this subject which, with the illustrations that accompany it, will be found of great value in showing the proper construction of frame and partly frame structures used for residential and business purposes.
