VICE-PRESIDENT GEORGE E. LONG RETIRES In the April number of Graphite we announced the celebration of the seventieth birthday of Mr. George E. Long, Senior Vice-President of the Joseph Dixon Crucible Company. Little did it occur to us at that time that in the very next issue we would have occasion to make this additional important statement affecting Mr. Long. On April 19th, following his re-election as a member of the Board of Directors at the annual meeting of the Stockholders of the Joseph Dixon Crucible Company, Mr. Long announced his decision to retire from the office of VicePresident. Thereby he terminates forty-three years of active and valuable service with this Company, beginning in the capacity of a stenographer and advancing to the offices of Secretary, Treasurer and Vice-President, respectively.
