Accidental Discovery of New Water Supply

Issue 1 and Volume 68.

Accidental Discovery of New Water Supply While workmen were excavating for laterals for the new feeder system for the city of Chadron, Neb., they uncovered large springs eight feet below the surface, that have a flow estimated at 500,000 gallons a day. This, added to the springs now furnishing over 2,000,000 gallons daily, will give the city a liberal supply. The North-western Railroad consumes more than 250,000 gallons a day at this point.
