WATER WORKS NEWS A contract amounting to $15,125 was recently awarded by Wells, Minn., for a new water works system. The city of Janesville, Minn., has awarded the contract to the Murray Iron Works, Burlington, Iowa, for pumping engine for the water works of that city. The village of Oakwood, Ohio, recently authorized the issuance of $45,000 worth of bonds to take over the plant of the Oakwood Water and Light Company. The new South Amboy, N. J., city water works was put into operation on Saturday afternoon, November 6, at 2.30 o’clock. The cost of the plant was $225,000. The Providence, R. I. council recently passed a resolution appropriating $40,000 from the water works depreciation fund for the erection of a pumping station and pumping unit at Sockanosset.
