A Large Fire at Macon Three two-story brick buildings in the heart of the wholesale district on Broadway, at Macon, Ga., were completely destroyed by fire. The three buildings were occupied by the American Railway Express Company, Southern Vulcanizing Company, and the Febs Barber Supply Company: The flames were discovered at 10.15 A. M. in the basement of the American Railway Express Company building, the basement being used as a storage room by the Macon Paper & Iron Co. The express company building was packed with all kinds of Xmas packages waiting for delivery to Macon people. The entire basement was in flames when the first alarm was sent in. Chief Jones sent in a general alarm, calling out all apparatus in the city.
