FIRE DEPARTMENT ACTIVITIES A new triple combination pumper was successfully tested at Petersburg, Pa. The Mayor of Easton, Pa., has suggested that fire alarm boxes be supplied to all business houses in Wilson borough. The village of Hightstown, N. J., has sold and issued bonds to the amount of $12,000 for the purchase of apparatus for the fire department. A movement is on foot to form a fire district in Berlin, Conn. If the plan is accepted, it is expected that a water system will also be adopted. The paid firemen of Warren, Pa., recently arranged to hold a ball to secure funds with which to purchase uniforms for the chief and twelve paid men. At a recent meeting of the board of fire commissioners of Rome, N. Y., the age limit of applicants for the fire department was changed from 17 to 40 years to 18 to 35 years.…
