Boston High Pressure Wagons A test of the water guns on the American-LaFraace high pressure wagon No. 1 of the Boston fire department, an illustration of which is shown herewith, was held recently under direction of Chief Peter E. Walsh and Superintendent F. A. McInnes, of the water department. Four 1000-gallon AmericanLaFrance pumping engines were used. Three lines of hose were laid from each engine, making 12 lines or 6 for each pipe. The results of the test were as follows: Using 2 1/2 inch aozzles, 100 pounds pressure at the nozzles, 1866 gallons per minute from each gun; 2 1/4 inch nozzles, 110 pounds pressure, 1586 gallons; 2 inch nozzles, 135 pounds pressure, 1375 gallons. Fire Commissioner John R. Murphy was an interested spectator at the exhibition which was held on Albany street near fire headquarters. This apparatus is one of three recently installed in the Boston fire department.
