A. at San Francisco —Important Action in Fire Prevention Matters— New Officers — Report on Building Construction THE twenty-fifth annual meeting of the National Fire Protection Association was held at the Fairmont Hotel, San Francisco, Cal., on June 14 to 16, 1921, there being about two hundred delegates attending the convention. The reports of the various committees, a list of which was published on page 1149 of the June 8 issue, were discussed and several resolutions were passed by the convention, among others approving the recommendation of the universal use of the safety match and that smoking be prohibited in industrial and mercantile buildings except in fireproof rooms; that municipalities adopt the standard building code of the National Board of Fire Underwriters, with a view of encouraging fire-resistive building construction, prohibiting inflammable roof coverings and providing adequate exit…
