Baltimore Takes Over Water Plant Negotiations for the purchase of the Artesian Water Company and the Roland Park Water Company, two of the nine suburban companies to be taken over by the public improvement commission of Baltimore, Md., have been completed and the transfer of the title to the city in both cases is imminent. The first and largest of the nine companies, the Baltimore County Water Company, was taken over recently for $2,589,335. The combined valuation of the Artesian and Roland Park Companies is placed by the city officials at not above $500,000, although representatives of the companies are said to have maintained that each is worth nearly that sum. The Artesian Company serves approximately 10,000 persons in Forest Park, Howard Park, West Arlington and Arlington sections.
