Two Fires at Augusta The Augusta fire department under the command of Chief Frank G. Reynolds battled with two general alarm fires recently, and are being congratulated upon their quick and excellent work in handling the two fires. This is the first time in the history of the Augusta fire department that two general alarms have been sent in in less than twenty-four hours of each other. The first fire was at 2:30 A. M„ Friday, July 29, when flames where discovered on the second floor of the Leonard Building, a five-story office structure at Broad and Seventh Streets in the heart of the business district. Chief Reynolds seeing the seriousness of the flames, immediately turned in the general alarm.
