Efficiency in Sandusky’s Water Department Sandusky, Ohio, according to City Manager Zimmerman, used during the month of June 16,000,000 gallons of water less than last year, although the weather was much hotter. In fact the amount of the water pumped this year falls far below the average of last year. Statistics show that more water is being pumped on a pound of fuel than ever before, the average amount for June being 400 gallons to the pound, compared to the former high mark of 350 gallons to the pound. This result is attributed to the fact that a better grade of coal has been obtained. The average daily output of water pumped during the week beginning July 10, was 4,500,000 gallons.
