FIRE DEPT. ACQUIRES A HERO Niagara Falls, N. Y.—The appointment of Edward Wilson, of 262 Third street, as captain of the Third street firehall to fill the vacancy made by the death of Dennis Dinan, has been approved by the City Council. City Manager Edwin J. Fort, who made the appointment, said that Mr. Wilson stood at the head of the civil service list established by a recent examination with a rating of 91 1/2 per cent. Before being appointed to the Falls city fire department he was employed by the Lockport Paper company at its Falls plant, which has since been taken over by the Certainteed Products company. His record while on the department has been excellent.
