Minneapolis Independent Fire Alarm The fire department committee of the city council of Minneapolis, Minn., has been requested to authorize the initial work in the installation of an independent fire alarm system, for which $100,000 has already been appropriated. It originally was intended that installation of the independent alarm system would be started last spring, but the route had to be revised because of changes in the installation of cables of the telephone companies, the conduits of which are to be used for the fire department signal system. Changes made by the telephone company utilized many of the conduits which the fire department had planned to use, so it has been necessary to change the routing to use available conduits.
