The Wallkill Fire Company of Montgomery, N. Y., has placed an order for a Mack fire truck. The fire department of Detroit, Mich., recently closed the contract for five Ahrens-Fox pumpers. The city of Peoria, Ill., purchased recently a Seagrave Model 76 750-gallon hose car and pumper, the price being $12,000. The town council of Riverside, R. I., is considering the improvement of the fire department equipment. It is probable that a light truck will be added to the department. The Huntington Manor, L. I., N. Y., fire department^ at a fair held on the week of August 19, raised nearly $5,000, which will be used for the purchase of additional fire apparatus. The fire department of Dover, N. H., will…
