RE-ELECT GENERAL SPENCER Atlantic City.—Amid applause, cheers and wellwishes. Brigadier General Bird Wilson Spencer, of Passaic, was re-elected president of the New Jersey State Firemen’s Association. This begins his fortyfourth consecutive term as head of the organization. All of the principal officers were also re-elected. There were a number of changes among the vicepresidents, however. William Small, of Newark, was returned as secretary for his forty-second year. T. Howell Johnson, of Bloomfield, was re-elected treasurer, to serve his thirty-fourth year. Brigadier General Spencer was signally honored by the New Jersey State Firemen a year ago, when they erected a lifesize statue of him in the spacious grounds of the State Firemen’s Home at Boonton. The general, despite his ago, is a crack rifle shot. He has been in command of the Department of Rifle Practice at Sea Girt for many years.
