Contract Awarded for Cleveland Reservoir A contract was awarded on November 18 to the Stange & Walsh Construction Company, of Cleveland, Ohio, by the department of public works, division of water, of Cleveland, of which J. F. Martin is commissioner, for the construction of the Baldwin Reservoir of the water system of that city. This contract calls for fortytwo items, including excavation, concrete, cast iron pipe, etc., structural steel, valves and so on. The figure at which this contract was awarded was $1,824,125. There were received six bids, the highest of which was $2,309,223.90. The significant feature in connection with the awarding of this contract was the fact that bids had been previously called for on this reservoir on May 16, there being thirteen bids received at that time, the highest of which was $2,734,193.70 and the lowest $2,205,247.90.
