St. Joseph Apparatus Makes Fast Run In answer to a cal! for aid from DeKalb, Mo., which is eleven miles from St. Joseph, Mo., two fire apparatus and two automobiles of the latter fire department made a quick run on Sunday, December 11. The first alarm was received at fire headquarters at 12:22 p. m., and was to the effect that the entire town of DeKalb was in flames. Company No. 13 left immediately with its chemical and hose car, making the run in nineteen minutes. Chief Horace G. Regan then caused an extra supply of chemicals to be loaded in two automobiles at the central station and accompanied by Mayor Marshall of St. Joseph and several men of the department started for DeKalb following closely the first apparatus.
